Welcome to Part II of 50 Food Challenges in the United States.

 

Where: Montana (Butte)
Who: Trimbo’s Pizza

Food Challenge
Challenge: Eat the Jumboli, which consists of 80 ounces (5 pounds) of mozzarella, pizza sauce, fried peppers, onions, capicola, salami, pepperoni, black olives, mushrooms, spinach, ricotta and whatever else the cook feels like tossing in.

If you complete the challenge: Finish it, plus a drink, in 60 minutes, by yourself, and the $29.50 meal is free along with a place on the Wall of Fame.

Who: Stella’s Bar and Grill

Challenge: Eat The Stellanator in 45 minutes or less. It consists of 6 burgers, 6 eggs, cheese, 12 pieces of bacon, lettuce, tomato and loads of other stuff, too. 

If you complete the challenge: you get a free t-shirt and your picture on the wall of fame. By the way, the current record is 3 minutes and 40 seconds. Can you beat it?

Who: The Pub at Monte Carlo

Challenge: eat 8 lbs of ground beef, bun and toppings with a 32oz boot of beer in 30 minutes or less. 

If you complete the challenge: If you do it within the required time you get the burger for free and a free t-shirt.

Where: New Hampshire (Manchester)
Who: KC’s Rib Shack

Challenge: Made up of a rack of ribs, pulled pork, beef brisket, sausage, chicken, beans, coleslaw and two pieces of cornbread. So far, only 2 people have defeated this challenge. Also … it’s served on a huge shovel.

If you complete the challenge: Conquer the shovel and the meal is free. You also get a free t-shirt and a picture on the wall of fame.

Who: Clinton Station Diner

Challenge: You and four friends can try to mount the 50-pound Mt. Olympus Burger in three hours.

If you complete the challenge: Free if you can finish.

Where: New Mexico (Albuquerque)
Who: Sadie’s of New Mexico

food challenge
Challenge: They ask you to consume seven pounds of sopaipilla filled with beef or chicken and smothered in red or green chile, then topped with salsa, lettuce, tomato and tostados. To add insult to stomachache, you must finish a small dessert sopaipilla as well. Sadie has a laundry list of rules, so ask your waiter for the current price and be prepared to pay in full beforehand. 

If you complete the challenge: finish the meal in an hour and not leave the table to win your money back. They offer you a “purging” bucket, but if you use it, you forfeit. So far, only eight people have won. Will you be #9?

Who: Swingbelly’s BBQ

Challenge: You have one hour to finish The Swingbelly, which consists of a full slab of St. Louis Ribs, 1/4 lb pulled pork on Texas toast, 1/4 lb of brisket on Texas toast, 3 rib tips along with 2 sides and 2 pieces sweet cornbread. 

If you complete the challenge: your food is free, you get a t-shirt and your face up on the wall of fame.

Where: North Carolina (Multiple Locations)
Who: Hwy 55

Challenge: take the 55 Challenge. They will stack up almost 55 ounces of meat on a burger bun, top it with at least four trimmings and throw in a side of fries with a 24-ounce soda.

If you complete the challenge: If you can eat it all in 30 minutes or less, it’s on the house.
If you fail? If you can’t finish or you cheat, you get to pay for it.

Who: Marlin’s Family Restaurant

Challenge: you need to eat a 3 pound beef burger with all the toppings. 

If you complete the challenge: do it within 30 minutes, you get it for free.

Where: Ohio (Columbus and Cleveland)
Who: Melt Bar and Grilled

Challenge: This sandwich is over 5 pounds in weight and comprised of 13 different cheeses sandwiches between 3 slices of garlic bread, along with fries and slaw.

If you complete the challenge: you’re rewarded with a t-shirt or pint glass, a $10 voucher and your picture on the wall of fame.

Who: Joe Momma’s

Challenge: The incinerator pizza is 14 inches in diameter and weighs four pounds. It is topped with wasabi red sauce, sliced hot links, pepperoni, salami, ham, black pepper, jalapeños, habaneros and a ghost pepper Sriracha swirl.

Where: Oregon (Portland)
Who: VooDoo Donuts

Challenge: This challenge featuring a super-sized doughnut equivalent to six of their regular-sized doughnuts. 

If you complete the challenge: Consume the Tex-Ass Challenge doughnut in 80 seconds or less and you’ll get your money back.

Where: Pennsylvania (Three location in Philadelphia)
Who: Drinker’s

Challenge: Despite the name of the place, this has to do with tacos. Eat 33 soft shell tacos with ground beef, lettuce, tomato, and cheese in 13 minutes. 

If you complete the challenge: Free mail, t-shirt, your name engraved on a plaque, and a bottle of Joe’s Taco Sauce. Yum!

Where: Rhode Island (Wakefield)
Who: Mews Tavern

Challenge: Devour a sandwich loaded with two-pounds of black angus beef, cheese, and toppings. Don’t forget the fries and pickles, which bring the total meal to 3 1/2 pounds. 

If you complete the challenge: Voucher for a free burger the next time you visit.

Where: South Carolina (Charleston)
Who: Bushido Japanese Restaurant

Challenge: If you can stand the heat, then give it a try. Eat 10 sushi rolls, all with increasing heat as you devour each one. Roll #9 contains a whole habenero pepper, and you aren’t allowed anything to drink. 

If you complete the challenge: Picture on the Wall of Fame, a Bushido headband, a $25.00 gift certificate, and free sake or started on future trips.

Where: South Dakota (Several locations, even in Colorado) 
Who: Beau Jo’s

Challenge: Up to two people can take on this challenge, which is nice since it’s comprised of 14 lbs. of pizza. The crust is 16-inches in diameter, and topped with hamburger, sausage, pepperoni, peppers, onions, and mushroom. Oh yeah, and cheese!

If you complete the challenge: Finish in an hour or less and it’s free. You’ll also get $100 in case and 2 free t-shirts.

Where: Tennessee (Nashville)
Who: Piranha’s Bar and Grill

Challenge: The Titan Cheese Steak. It’s 10-pounds and consists of shaved beef, cheese, coleslaw, fries, onions, and peppers. The size of the bun is that of a small child. 

If you complete the challenge: You get your money back and $100.00 case. 

If you fail? Pay $50.00 for the meal. 

Note: To this date, only one person has one the challenge, and she only weighed 100 pounds.

Who: Cowtown Diner

Challenge: A colossal chicken friend 64-ounce steak, smothered in gravy, and surround it will 6-pounds of mashed potatoes and 10 piece of Texas toast. You have almost the entire day to finish (7am – 2pm). 

If you complete the challenge: Full refund on the email.

Where: Utah (Salt Lake City)
Who: Lucky 13 Bar and Grill

Challenge: finish the Big Benny and Lucky 13 burger. The Big Benny is a foot tall and made up of house-smoked bacon, ham, cheddar, swiss, caramelized onions. The Lucky 13 Burger is 14 ounces of ground chuck with Belizean habanero puree, roasted habaneros, stuffed between two grilled-cheese sandwiches that are filled with sautéed onions, roasted jalapeños and roasted habaneros. Good luck!

If you complete the challenge: Free meal + $200.00.

Challenge: You have 30 minutes to eat 6 eggs, 6 slices of bacon, double toast, double fries, 6 pancakes and 2 pieces of french toast. 

If you complete the challenge: The meal is free!

Challenge: In under 60 minutes, you have to eat a 72oz steak, baked potato, bread, soup, salad and ice cream.

Where: West Virginia (Several Locations)
Who: Quaker Steak and Lube

Challenge: For the Atomic Challenge the guest must eat 5 Atomic wings. You are also required to sign a waiver before they eat the wings.

If you complete the challenge: If you can handle the heat and complete the challenge they will get their name on the Wall of Flame and a bumper sticker.

Where: Wisconsin (Madison)
Who: Red Rock Saloon

Challenge: In 23 minutes, you must eat a 1/2 lb burger, topped with cheese & bacon, deep fried chicken breast, another 1/2 lb burger, topped with cheese & bacon, an egg, lettuce, tomato & onion strings, a basket of fries, and 6 T.C.B Ghost pepper wings. 

If you complete the challenge: you’ll receive a Red Rock hat and t-shirt and have your picture put up on their wall of fame.

Who: The Pony Grill and Bar

Challenge: Eat the 5-pound Bronc Burger. It includes 4 patties, 12 pieces of cheese, 8 pieces of bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickle and a bun. The challenge is to demolish it within 1 hour.
